Moving Scene - Dave character designs

It was then time to start on the character designs, starting with Dave:

So to start off in gaining further

insight into my character as a

hard worker I considered menial

tasks while creating the designs.

To kind of show his attitude

essentially....

Enough attribute added was to

give Dave a scruffy appearance.

Here is some more designs of

his lazier personality.

After more design sheets I came

to the following designs to the left.

Becoming more decisive in the

character I've come to the idea

that he's 27 rather than the young

age of perhaps 18/19 I was 1st

considering. This gave me the

ability to have Dave look more

scruffy and un-kept.

With the character Idea and

design pretty much nailed down

it was time to explore facial

expressions. This was necessary

as by exploring facial

expressions It enabled me further

insight into what emotions the

character may express whilst staying true to his character........for example the

smiley face is something which for me does not reflect my character at all. So

a happy expression in my dialogged piece shouldn't pop up in my animation.

Dave almost completed with

some action poses to

reflect his job and personality.

With the turnaround complete

so is the character. I've decided

that he's 27 and an apprentice and

well known friend to the boss

who's also in the scene. Dave's a

push character who until recently

was unemployed an a general lazy

type of guy.
